It's Arrived!

I'm Brandalin and I love beauty. I'll tell you about products, colors, creams, powders, science, technology, break outs, sales, techniques, tips and everything else connected to the beautyverse. Things will be even more exciting as soon as I find my digital camera.

Until then, let's start with the basics of a beautiful face; beautiful skin. Concealer lasts a lot longer when you don't have much to conceal. These products have a track record of keeping skin blemish free and baby's butt* smooth.

CETAPHIL

Dermatologist recommended since it's inception, this gentle cleanser hardly forms a lather which keeps skin from drying out. Most of us are used to our face feeling moisture free after a wash but that means our skin has been striped of it's natural oils. When this happens, (sebaceous) glands will over produce sebum, a waxy and sticky oil that causes zits. Once rinsed, Cetaphil leaves a thin layer of moisture, reducing your skin's need to produce this oil. Which brings us to the next product...

NEUTROGENA OIL-FREE MOISTURE

Cold weather yields dry skin but this heavy duty moisturizer provides SPF protection without alcohol, fragrance, or pore clogging ingredients. It's lightweight and leaves skin super soft. It's amazing that a moisturizer this complete can be found at any drug store. It's one of my favorites, but even it can't prevent the occasional zit, so keep reading.

NEUTROGENA CLEAR PORE ZIT CREAM/MASK/CLEANSER

I don't work for Neutrogena, I swear, but its products are phenomenal. Especially this stuff. Benzoyl peroxide is the active ingredient and it gently drys out any pimple within a few days. It can also be used as a mask once or twice a week or a daily cleanser. It washes off clean and leaves just enough moisture. It's safe for even the oiliest skin. My roommate turned me on to it and I'm forever grateful to her. Because of the Benzoil peroxide you'll want to keep it away from your eyes. So if you're planning to put make up on your peepers, make sure you have a good eye make up remover. And, of course, I have a suggestion...

LANCOME EYE MAKE UP REMOVER

I love this stuff because it works with one or two swipes of a cotton swab. It can erase the blackest of black eyeliner (goth girls, this is you) leaving nothing behind. My biggest gripe with most eye make up removers is oil. Sometimes there's too much of it and too much oil leads to zits. Lancome's formula is perfect and a little 4.2 ounce bottle will last a long time.

These are some popular favorite beauty products. Which ones are yours? Which products do you think are better? I'm always on the look out for the next best item.

Ta ta, loves.
